Bianca Fréchette is a geologist (B.Sc., Université de Montréal, 1990). For her Master thesis she studied polliniferous till in the vicinity of the Pingualuit crater. From 1994 to 2000 she was a research associate at the Department of Geography at Université de Montréal and specialized in pollen analysis of Arctic sediments. Her Doctoral dissertation (2007, UQAM) was on vegetation and climate of the last interglacial and Holocene on Baffin Island and Greenland. Her research interests focused on quantitative climate reconstructions from pollen assemblages. She is currently a researcher at Geotop (UQAM) and an adjunct professor at the Department of Earth and atmospheric Sciences (UQAM) since 2015.
