John Williams

John (Jack) Williams is a Geography professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and former director of the Center for Climatic Research.  Research themes include novel climates and ecosystems, abrupt change, causes and consequences of past species extinctions, and the last deglaciation as a model system for understanding 21st-century climate change.  Dr. Williams is chair of the Executive Working Group for the Neotoma Paleoecology Database (www.neotomadb.org), which serves the global-change community by providing a high-quality, curated repository for paleoecological and paleoenvironmental data.
