Malan Marnersdóttir. Dr. & Ph.D., Professor of Nordic literature at Fróðskaparsetur Føroya, The University of the Faroe Islands. Her Ph.D.-thesis (1985) is research on women in Faroese media and literature 1890-1945 and her Doctoral (2000) thesis analyzes the narratology and intertextuality in Faroese novels published after 1970. She was the Principal of Fróðskaparsetur 1998-2004 and Dean for Humanities, Social Sciences and Education 2012-16. Faroese Literary History vol 1 (2011) and 2 (forthcoming) is a collaboration project together with Professor Turið Sigurðardóttir. Marnersdóttir has contributed to a considerable number of books and journals on Faroese literature and culture. Speeks Faroese, Danish, French, English, German.
