Claire Houmard is a young researcher in Archaeology working for different Arctic project, together with European and Canadian colleagues. She obtained her PhD at Université Paris-Nanterre (France) and Laval University (Quebec). She supervises graduate students in bone technology (French and European prehistory) at Université Paris-Nanterre. The recent research projects in which she participated included archaeological field work (Labrador), as well as study of the material culture from Pre-Inuit (Canada), Yup’ik (Alaska), and Thule (Canada, Greenland) sites. She focused her analyses on the animal exploitation, combining foodways, lifeways and technological aspects of the different Arctic past societies.
